Family Affair:

One day a girl brings home her boyfriend and tells her father she wants to marry him. After talking to him for while, he tells his daughter she can't do it because he's her half brother. The same problem happens again four more times! The girl starts to get pissed off. She goes to her mom and says, "Mom... What have you been doing all your life? Dad's been going around laying every maiden in the town and now I can't marry any of the five guys I like because they have turned out to be my half brothers!!!"

Her mom replies, "Don't worry darling, you can marry any one of them you want, he isn't really your dad."

A Doctor is speaking with a patient he has just examined and tells him he has test results back. The patient says, "Give me the bad news first!"
Doctor replies, "You've got AIDS."
"Oh, no! What could be worse than that?" asks the patient.
"You've also got Alzheimer's Disease."
Looking relieved the patient says, "Oh...Well, that's not so bad. At least I don't have AIDS."

Lounging at the movies: Casino Royale

Casino Royale (2006)
Starring Daniel Craig as James Bond. Possibly our favorite Bond, Daniel Craig uses pure grit to get what he needs. This movie is supposed to show us where James Bond came from and does an excellent job. Little or no gizmos but tons of action. Also we could not remember the last time we saw Bond bleed so much. He takes his share of punishment but is always thinking and getting the job done. We feel there are going to be more Bond movies to come starring Mr. Craig and we look forwartd to them. There could have been a bit more gratuitous sex but the action and adventure more than makes up for it. This film makes all other James Bond movies seem stiff. Must see.

Syriana (2005)
George Clooney plays a guy who seems to be paddling right up s**ts creek. We are not sure why because we still are not sure what the movie is about. There is big oil business and princes as well as military and terrorists but how they all work together is a mystery to us as we could not keep it straight.

The Benchwarmers (2006)
Athletically challenged misfits Nepolean Dynomite, Rob Schneider and David Spade take on the little league and we found it hysterical. Film snobs will not like this film but we give it 3 thumbs up and a wink and a nod.

Movies to The B.K. Lounge are currently provided by NetFlix.

Lounge Eats: Stuffed Shrooms

With the holiday season sneaking up on us, and the family dinners and parties being organized, you may be asked to partake. This recipe will surely please the food snobs in your family.

• 1 1/2 pounds medium mushrooms,
   brushed clean
• Fresh lemon juice
• 10 tablespoons butter
• 6 tablespoons minced onion
• 2 cloves garlic, mashed to a paste
• 1/2 pound lean ground pork
• Salt and ground pepper to taste
• 6 tablespoons bread crumbs
• 1 teaspoon brandy or cognac
• 2 tablespoons minced parsley
• 2 tablespoons chopped pine nuts

Separate the mushroom stems and chop the stems fairly fine. Sprinkle the caps with lemon juice.

Heat 8 tablespoons of the butter in a medium skillet and sauté the onion and garlic slowly until the onion is wilted. Add the meat, salt, and pepper and cook until the meat loses its color.

Add 2/3 cup chopped stems and cook 3 minutes more. Turn off the heat and stir in the bread crumbs, brandy, parsley and pine nuts

Pile the mixture into the mushroom caps, forming a smooth dome with the cupped side of a spoon. Brush with the remaining butter.

Bake in a preheated 350° F. oven for 15 minutes. Should make about 40 mushrooms.
