Lounge Cocktail: Vodka and Anything
Cocktail Psychology by Bryan Knox

Ingredients:
• Vodka
• Ice cubes
• Anything

Mix vodka with anything, add ice and enjoy.

It is 100 degrees F. and you crave a cool and refreshing adult beverage, but all you have is vodka and ice. No problem, vodka and ice, it's good. If this does not appease your pallet, you are in luck. Vodka plays well with everything. Vodka and ice is refreshing and delicious with tomato juice, club soda, orange juice, tonic, tap water, lemon aid, cola or more vodka. Experiment, relax and enjoy.

Grief:

A man placed some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother and started back toward his car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at a grave.

The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating, Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?"

The first man approached him and said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I've ever seen
before. For whom do you mourn so deeply? A child? A parent?"

The mourner took a moment to collect himself, then replied, "My wife's first husband."

Lounging at the movies: Batman for beginners, Traveling Pants, Life Aquatic

Batman Begins
Starring Christian Bale (American Psycho, The Machinist, etc.), Michael Cane, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek), Gary Oldman, Rutger Hauer, Morgan freeman and others. This is how it all started. This would have been good to see first. I am still not clear about which Star Wars movie I just saw.

We loved this movie. I was told that the sets and some of the storyline was art directed by Frank Miller (Sin City) and this gave it the extra dark and comic booky feel.

The classic tale of an emotionally abandon little rich kid looking for truth as an Asian pirate. Trained by ghosts, or possibly shadows, he returns home to stir up some serious crap.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Starring Amber Tamblyn (The Ring), Alexis Bledel (Tuck Everlasting), America Ferrera (Lords of Dogtown) and Blake Lively (Sandman).

Four teenage girls who have been friends for years face a summer apart. Each learns an important lesson in life and a pair of pants tie it all together. Very heart warming,

Unless the sequel is called the Sisterhood of the Exploding Pants that took over the world, we will not be present. These pants did not travel nearly enough, if you know what I am saying, and the only dead person I remember was a suicide. Any sex was not filmed and anything that may have blown up, did not. If we were 14 year old school girls I would give it two thumbs up. Since we are not it gets a thumbs down and a look at the ground in shame.

Life Aquatic
Starring Bill Murry, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Anjelica Houston, Willem Defoe, Jeff Goldbluem.... Do I really need to continue.

We were skeptical of this movie after being lured into see Rushmore and Bottle Rocket, both really slow burn. Life Aquatic is fun and well worth seeing. It is a simple kind of fun with a moderate budget, but it has fun that runs deep.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou as about a free spirit who is facing retirement. Recently introduced to a son he never knew they take off to find a rare shark that ate his previous partner. We found it very funny. Sometimes it was very, very funny.

The B. K. Lounge Cocktail Safety Tips

Here is the concept: You learned to read from someone else who already knew how to read. Learning how to read has enabled you in amazing ways. Reading is a great tool and it has enriched your life. Our cocktail safety tips work in much the same way. These tips, time tested and proven to enrich your life will save you hours in an emergency room and may even add days on to your life.

1) Skinny stemware and long straws are a bad idea. Breaking a stem on your Crazy Pirate Rum Exterminator is not half as bad as jabbing yourself deep in the sinus cavity with a skinny straw or skewer. When this happens you instinctively curl your nose and back away from the glass, pulling the skewer and all that is skewered upon it out of the glass and into the vest of your tux. Depending how long you have been enjoying cocktails this could be a quick reflex reaction or a slow "Ow that hurt, but I will play it cool because nobody noticed." type reaction. The "Play it cool approach" may make for some great video but does little for your reputation.

2) Cocktails that are on fire, bad idea. If you take a moment and just read the first line again, "Cocktails that are on fire, bad idea".

If you are thinking to yourself, self, cocktails that are on fire, bad idea, your life will be greatly extended. If you are thinking to yourself, self, I never even thought of lighting a cocktail on fire, you will find out soon enough.

3) Upgrading: I have been drinking beer all day. Now I want a bourbon. Probably a bad idea. But since we all do it anyway, we really have nothing bad to say about. Be warned.

4) I usually don't smoke but could I bum a cigarette? No! Your a lightweight. To the seasoned professional it is a bright red warning sign. A sign that there will be throwing up later, because not only do you usually not smoke, but you usually don't drink either.

5) Know your exits and path to the bathroom. Many times an embarrassing situation could have been avoided while enjoying a cocktail if there was knowledge of the exits and bathrooms. Running through a basement door thinking it was an exterior door can shave years off of your life. Also, all small white rooms are not bathrooms, sometimes they are linen closets.

6) Cocktails do not make you smarter. When you have to talk louder because you are smarter and people just do not understand, it is time to reflect. Most people will remember talking louder just before some incredible misfortune. If alcohol made you smarter you would have remembered this without assistance.

If you find yourself feeling better because you have more quality cocktail time, we have done our job.

Phobia Of The Month:
Barophobia: Fear of gravity.

Many times that I have feared gravity it has been in a bar. Very strange.
