Talking Dog For Sale:

This guy sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog for Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a black mutt just sitting there.

"You talk?" he asks. "Yep," the mutt replies. "So, what's your story?"

The mutt looks up and says, "Well, I discovered this gift pretty young and I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies eight years running. The jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger and I wanted to settle down. So I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security work, mostly wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings there and was awarded a batch of medals. Had a wife, a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. The owner says, "Ten dollars." The guy says, "This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him, so cheap?" The owner replies, "He's such a liar. He didn't do any of that stuff."

Lounging at the movies: U.S. Marshall's, Without A Paddle, Ray

U.S. Marshall's (1998): Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes, Robert Downey Jr., Joe Pantoliano and more.

Wesley Snipes is a tow truck driver and gets involved in a purely coincidental traffic accident that sends him to the hospital. The police find a handgun in his truck and run his sheet. Now tied to a murder 8 months earlier he is sent up the river to the Hoosegow but while in transport another inmate tries to assassinate him and the attempt causes the pilot to make an emergency landing. This opportunity allows Snipes to regain his freedom and find out the real story. At the same time we where finding out the real story of the murder and his involvement This movie is the sequel to 'The Fugitive' and is really good. If you are a fan of the Chicago art scene you will notice Chicago's very own Tony Fitzpatrick (checking on the baby) as well as art from other well known Chicago artists. This is a high adrenalin film that will keep you from going to the bathroom till the very end.

Without A Paddle (2004): Seth Green plays a sickly friend of his 3 life long buddies. When they meet again later in life at the funeral of one of their friends they decide to fulfill the wishes of the deceased and find the lost millions of D.B. Cooper. As these three city slickers wonder into the deep woods armed with no real wilderness skills the laughs begin. Not a deep thinking film nor does it send any deep life messages but neither does beer and we still love beer. Watching with us was one armed Tony so it received 4.5 thumbs up for pure entertainment quality.

Ray (2204): Jamie Foxx plays Ray Robinson Charles, the father of Rhythm and Blues Soul. Although a great movie we found ourselves disappointed because the movie is only about his hardships and most of them he brought on himself. I was surprised at his addiction to heroin and the fact he was an unscrupulous whore even though he had a wonderful wife at home. I wish the movie had of covered more of his triumphs based on the fact he had little or no chance of success based on his dirt poor childhood, ethnicity and blindness.

The B. K. Lounge Eats: Pasta Salad

Spring is right around the corner and cool salads will become a more popular dish. Most people have memories of Grandma's pasta salad but times they are a changing and we have been adapting traditional Pasta Salad recipes to modern tastes.

The sauce

3/4 cup mayo
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons mustard, yellow is fine
3 tablespoons orange or lemon marmalade
1 teaspoon salt

Ingredients:

1 lb. pasta, be creative.
1/2 small onion diced small
1 stalk celery sliced long ways and chopped
3/4 cup relish or diced sweet pickles
1 large carrot grated
1 cup cabbage, red or green
2 Tablespoons whole mustard seed
10 or 15 green olives chopped
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
Whatever else you want

Cook pasta as instructed on package. Do not overcook. Rinse in cold water and drain while you prepare other ingredients.

Mix sauce ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and put in the fridge.

Prepare ingredient as listed and place in a bowl large enough to allow mixing it all together. When you have all the ingredients (not the sauce) in the bowl lightly toss taking care not to beat up the pasta.

Pour sauce over your lightly tossed ingredients and lightly toss it all together. Give it a taste and maybe add some salt. Place in refrigerator and let chill through. Toss again before serving and serve with copious amounts of sunshine and good times.

In our experiments we have taken this basic recipe and adapted it to be spicy by adding hot sauce and ground Chipotle pepper as well as experimenting with different types of raisins and various other vegetables.

Fear no pasta salad and try adding the stuff you like. One word of advise; do not use long pasta such as spaghetti, although it seemed like a good idea it is hard to eat in a chilled state. And lasagna noodles are out too, for obvious reasons.
